Our Vision

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."

Proverbs 22:6

About Us

Mountain View Christian School dates back to the years 1895 to 1900.   We are one of 7,598 Adventist educational institutions operating in over 100 countries around the world with over 1.5 million students. This makes us the largest school system of any Protestant faith in the world. The first teachers at Mountain View were Mr. & Mrs. B. A. Wolcott and the school was located at the corner of Heburn & 5th Street in Williamsport. Over the years the school met at different locations in both Williamsport and South Williamsport. In 1958, students and staff moved into the new facility at 305 Fleming Street, South Williamsport. The name of the school has changed several times over the years. In the past, we have been known as the Williamsport Church School and Mountain View Junior Academy. Grades 9-10 were once offered and the vision is to include grades 9-12 in the near future. PreSchool and Kindergarten were added in 2011. The longest tenure of any teacher has been Mrs. Kathryn (Ertel) Kreger, who taught 26 years. Over the years many students have going on to be successful contributors in society as: doctors, teachers, pastors, business owners, care home providers, missionaries, and more.

Mountain View Christian School specializes in creating experiences that foster a lifelong love of learning in a safe and secure environment where all abilities and talents are honored and accepted.

Our teachers and staff want to help all students succeed!
